thermal life technology is aided by using the most efficient
insulation available. Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIPs) are 10
times more efficient than poly styrene foam insulation.
How does it work?
- Air is a very
effective thermal transfer agent. Removing air from
the equation significantly inhibits thermal transfer from
one surface side to the other just like in a thermos bottle.
- VIPs start with a
very porous and yet strong core material that inhibits
thermal transfer.
- The core material is
placed inside a reflective vacuum barrier bag and placed into vacuum
chamber. The bag is open on one side.
- The vacuum chamber is
closed and an extremely high vacuum is pulled on the
material in the chamber. This removes the air from
inside the bag and from the interior of the core material in
the bag.
- While the panel is
still in the chamber, the open side of the bag is sealed.
The chamber pressure is then brought back to atmospheric
pressure and the chamber is opened and the finished VIP is
removed.
- Active CC Boxes then uses
proprietary technology to join panels together to create the
least heat-leak possible with VIPs.
In combination with the
Thermal Shield™,
the result is an thermal absorption resistant container that
out performs all others.
